Q & A with Renay
What do you do at CAES?
I am an Academic Advisor for students majoring in Biological Sciences. My job is to insure students receive the academic guidance they need in order to graduate. My role is to help my advisees succeed here at UGA by providing each student with resources tailored to their particular goals. I am here to offer direction in regards to their current goals as undergraduates, as well as to offer career guidance.
How do you interact with students and improve student life in CAES?
Students will be able to reach me daily via email or by phone, and I will meet with students face-to-face to insure they have a clear plan for their academic career. I am here to help students thrive during their time as an undergraduate at UGA—both inside and outside the classroom and CAES. I can offer students information about events happening within CAES as well as provide them internship and study abroad opportunities. There are so many amazing opportunities the University of Georgia has to offer, and my goal is to help students have an incredible experience while they are here.
What is your favorite thing about CAES?
I love how much CAES feels like a small community within the university. Faculty and staff work very closely with the students because they truly care. We are a family. We take care of one another, and we work together to be the best that we can be. I felt this while I was a student in CAES and in my time away from UGA when I could still reach out to faculty members and find them just as helpful to me post-grad as when I was an undergrad.
