CAES Students Emcee TEDxUGA Event

During the sixth year of TEDxUGA Student Idea Showcase (SIS), College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences students, Ayodele Dare and Luz Morales served as emcees. Ayodele Dare is studying Food Industry Marketing and Administration, and Luz Morales is an Agricultural Education major.

"I love listening and watching TED Talks, but being the co-emcee for TEDxUGA Student Idea Showcase is something I never saw myself doing,” states Luz. “I appreciated how the talks varied from gender to ecology and equality; my heart was full! I thank the TED Committee and Mr. Narke Norton for giving Ayodele and I this wonderful experience. This was a night I'll never forget!"

TEDxUGA is an independently organized TED event, which hosts UGA faculty, alumni and students as they share their philosophies, art, inspiration and ideas on a wide variety of topics.

On November 15th, a total of nine presenters gathered at the Fine Arts Theatre on UGA’s campus to share topics ranging from biodegradable plastics to data analysis. From these nine presenters a select few were chosen to speak at the TEDxUGA: CONNECT event, to be held on March 22nd at The Classic Center. These individuals are Apurba Banerjee, Elizabeth Hardister, and Faiz Ali Saulat.

This year’s SIS event was considered by some the most successful in recent years with an abundance of well articulate, creative ideas presented to challenge the listeners in attendance.

We are proud of the great work Ayodele and Luz did representing the University of Georgia, College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
