CAES-sponsored Internships & Fellowships

Agricultural Policy Internship

The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences seeks interested applicants for an Agricultural Policy Internship with Schramm, Williams & Associates, Inc. of Washington DC. The firm represents members of the agricultural community, food industry, and other clients at the federal, state, and international government levels.

Congressional Agricultural Fellowship

The UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and several Georgia Congressional offices offer summer fellowship opportunities for students in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Students serve as agricultural liaisons while in Washington, D.C.

Cooperative Extension Internship

UGA Cooperative Extension offers semester-long internships to college students. Students will be matched with an agent in the county or regional Cooperative Extension office that they prefer, if possible. The internship can be completed during any semester of the year and is a paid internship.

Emerging Scholars Internship

The Emerging Scholars Internship is an opportunity for students at Fort Valley State University (FVSU) and Florida A&M University (FAMU) to conduct research with CAES scientists and reside on the UGA Campus in Athens.

Georgia Farm Bureau Legislative Internship

The Georgia Farm Bureau and the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences cosponsor a 12- to 16-week legislative internship with the Georgia Farm Bureau's Headquarters in Macon. This is an excellent opportunity for college students or recent graduates to become involved in farm policy development, education and implementation with the Georgia Farm Bureau, Georgia's largest farm organization.

Rural Caucus Legislative Internship

The Rural Caucus in the Georgia House of Representatives and the UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences cosponsor a 8- to 16-week legislative internship with the House Rural Caucus. This is an excellent opportunity for students to become involved in issues and legislation that impact agriculture and rural communities.

Winegrowers of Georgia Internship

The UGA College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the Winegrowers Association of Georgia cosponsor internships for students to study viticulture and enology by spending a summer or fall semester working with Georgia winegrowers, winery owners, managers and winemakers. Flexible schedules that span late summer and fall through harvest season may also be possible.

Some majors have classes specifically designated to allow you to gain course credit and work experience. They include:

  • Agricultural education internships
  • Food science internships
