Additional Resources
Horticulture is a major in plants, from fragrant flowers to tasty vegetables to every pretty indoor and outdoor plant in between. Horticulture students can focus on turf management (you'd specialize in grass for golf courses, recreational areas and home lawns), floriculture and woody ornamentals (in other words, you'd major in plants that make people happy and their gardens beautiful) or fruit and vegetable production and management (what better job is there than studying in what you eat?). Plus, majoring in Horticulture means your career options range from management to production to marketing at places like Disney World, the Augusta National Golf Club or McCorkle Nurseries.
